TX to OR

Michael here:
Well it's been a while since we posted and thought i would update y'all on our goings about. Especially since there are more people than just my mom that actually read our blog. Right now I'm writing this from Portland, OR. We are staying with some great friends, Leo & Amy see http://amyandleo.blogspot.com/. I have to admit that I was pretty wore out spiritually speaking. I felt like Elijah after he saw God do some amazing stuff and then got bummed out in the desert and started whining. But our good Dad knew how much i needed this and therefore we are here. I can feel my tank filling up being around Leo, Bryan and Jason . What a blessing it is to have such great friends. We had a great meal and talked. To find so many quality people in one place is amazing. To know people that would give you the shirt off of their back is a blessing. Even more so you just yearn to be able to give back to someone like that. Have you ever felt that way? You have a great friend that has blessed you so much but you feel like you can't do anything for them? You just wish you could sincerely open up your heart and say look it's for real, i am not just trying to flatter you i really mean it. There are those people out there that you can tell are faking it. I'm sure that if have been one of them at times.
Anyhow we plan to stay here for a couple of weeks and then return for the holidays to TX. I miss Oaxaca already and i can see how much of my heart is there with the people.
We will keep you up to date as much as possible.
Blessings,
Michael

Good-bye for a little while

Well with all that is happening in Oaxaca we have decided to leave for a little while. We have good friends that will be enjoying our house while we are gone. We were going to go to the USA for Christmas anyway so since things just seem to continue to get worse and worse here and we can't go out to the villages we are going to leave early. Also I will not be posting for a few days, sorry about that.
We are very sad to leave our house but know it is for the best. Please continue to pray with us for Oaxaca and that a solution will come quickly. We truly love Oaxaca, and it is our home.....we hope to be back soon.

Oaxaca Update

I suppose that I have put off blogging about the situation in Oaxaca first of all because I thought there would have been a resolution by now and wanted to post about that rather than all the gore, and second I guess I did not want to admit on here how hard this has been on me.

As many of you now know, since it has been on national news, Oaxaca continues to have major conflict. The Federal police are here now and are trying to take care of this situation but it is definitly not being resolved as quickly as I would like. To read more about it go here.
I feel that this writter, who lives in Oaxaca, has a good take on the happenings here.

We have been laying low, staying in our house, and trying to stay busy inspite of it all. I have to admit that for awhile there I thought I might lose it...it was very hard for me to stay in all the time. And having such major turmoil in Oaxaca, but not being able to see it has been driving me a bit crazy as well. It is a very surreal feeling because my neighborhood looks normal but many of the other parts of the city are a total mess. The destruction is very sad.

I guess that is enough for now, I feel like I coudl go on and on but I know with blogs it is best to keep them short and sweet!
The pictures below are just a taste of what you can find on the internet......Please keep praying for us!
